A Delegation from Sungkyunkwan University, Visited the School of Materials Science and Engineering (PKU)

On March 26th, a delegation from Sungkyunkwan University in South Korea, including Vice President of International Affairs Hanjung Lee, Director of the Advanced Institute of Nanotechnology Sungjoo Lee, and Director of the Office of International Relations Jee-Eun Kim, visited the School of Materials Science and Engineering at Peking University (referred to as "the School" hereafter). They were warmly received by the School's Dean, Zou Ruqiang, Vice Dean Zhou Huanping, Assistant to the Dean Lei Ting, Director of the School’s International Cooperation Office Zhao Xiaoxu, and the School’s Academic Affairs Office Lv Jia. The discussions focused on collaborative initiatives such as joint student training and academic cooperation.

After the delegation watched the promotional video of the School of Materials Science and Engineering (PKU),Lei Tinggave a brief introduction to the history of the School, its development pattern of integration between Yanyuan Campus and Shenzhen Graduate School Campus, and then Leihighlighted the facultyresources, academic achievements, and five major research directions of the School.

Zhao Xiaoxu introduced the basic situation of international exchanges and cooperation in the School. He mentioned that the school attaches great importance to internationalization, hoping to enhance understanding and communication with Korean universities such as Sungkyunkwan University, so as to attract Korean students to study in China or engage in short-term research projects.

Hanjung Lee highly praised the development achievements and academic growth of the School, and then she introduced Sungkyunkwan University's long history, student scale, disciplinary characteristics, and international programs. She hoped that both sides could enhance communication to promote joint student training and comprehensive cooperation in the field of materials science.

Zhou Huanping acknowledged the collaborative potential between Sungkyunkwan University's Advanced Institute of Nanotechnology and the School of Materials Science and Engineering (PKU) in multiple research areas. She outlined the basic overview of the School's "111 Talent Base", wishing to deepen research collaboration in energy materials, nanotechnology, and other fields.

Such topics as future academic exchanges, research collaboration, and student exchanges were fully discussed.

The Delegation and the School’s representatives were in discussion.


After the discussion, the delegation visited the School’s laboratories, including the Graphene and Carbon Materials Laboratory(best365网页版登录烯碳材料实验室), Materials Processing and Analysis Center, Peking University(材料加工与测试中心), and the Electron Microscopy Center(电子显微镜中心等实验室).
